On June 19, 2015, Ronnie Bugaj Fischer and Janine Edwards, members of the Wayne County Bar Association presented a check for $2500 to Annette Petry, the President of the Wayne Pike Adult Literacy Program (WPALP). The WPALP is a non-profit volunteer organization that provides free tutoring, textbooks, and other services to adults who want to earn a GED, learn English, or to improve their literacy in order to obtain better employment. The WPALP works with adults in the community as well as in the correctional facilities of Wayne and Pike counties. Without the support of service organizations like the Wayne County Bar Association, the WPALP would not be able to serve these people in need. If you would like more information about the Wayne County Bar Association, go to their website; WWW.WCBA.ORG.
